It is possible to walk from the Aqauamarine Hotel to many of Moscow's most popular visitor attractions, including the Kremlin, Red Square, and the Tretyakov Gallery, in 15-20 minutes. In the immediate vicinity of the hotel there are fewer major sights, but guests with an interest in Russian theater can be directed to two historic museums close by.
The Ostrovsky Estate Museum on Ulitsa Malaya Ordynka commemorates the great 19th century playwright, with a collection of his personal effects, as well as a large number of engravings and paintings of historic Moscow scenes. The Bakhrushin Theatre Museum, meanwhile, was founded in 1894, and contains a wealth of historic costumes, set designs and other memorabilia from Moscow's greatest theatres, especially the Bolshoi.
