Although the area immediately adjacent to the Baltschug Kempinski Hotel is not the most lively in Moscow, there are several good eateries within walking distance of the hotel, either across the river or in the Zamoskvareche district to the south.
Top-end
GQ Bar (5 Ulitsa Balchug) is right next to the hotel, and is a fashionable and expensive cafe-bar serving Pan-Asia and Mediterranean Cuisine. Dorian Gray (6/1, Kadashyovskaya Naberezhnaya) is one of Moscow's best known high-end Italian restaurants.
Mid-range
Bosco Cafe (3 Red Square) is mainly worth visiting for the pleasure in summer of eating on its open-air terrace right on Red Square. Louisiana (30 Pyatnitskaya Ulitsa, Building 4) is a kitschy American-style diner that serves decent steaks.
Value
Idel (8 Maly Tatarskiy Pereulok, Building 1) is about 20 minutes' walk from the Baltschug Kempinski, but worth the walk to sample genuine and inexpensive Tartar cuisine.
