All of Moscow's major downtown visitor attractions are easily accessible by metro from the Best Western Vega Hotel, while many tourists make the trip to the area around the hotel to visit Izmailovo Park. Once an estate of the Romanov family, Izmailovo has several interesting 17th century buildings, including Pokrovskiy Cathedral, and Moscow's largest souvenir market, one of the best places in the city to find traditional Russian craft items such as lacquered boxes and hand-painted nesting dolls.
