Out of Moscow's main tourist center, the area around the Borodino Hotel can boast several reasonably priced local restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisine. Below is our pick of them.
Mid-range
Romashka (7 Ulitsa Verkhnyaya Krasnoseslkaya, Bldg. 2) is a large and stylishly designed restaurant serving an interesting international menu, with occasional live music. Astrakhan Cafe (13 Krasnoprudnaya Ulitsa) is a fishing-themed eatery with unusual interiors and a reasonable range of Russian dishes. If you are looking for something more exotic, Bakinsky Dvorik (6 Ulitsa Strominka) is a 24-hour Azeri restaurant serving spicy Caucasian cuisine (and sushi).
Value
Kopeika (40/12 Nizhnaya Krasnoselskaya, Bldg. 8) is a canteen in a business center that offers incredibly cheap and surprisingly good quality basic fare. Creperie de Paris (29 Rusakovskaya Ulitsa) is more or less as expected - inexpensive French pancakes in stylized "Parisian" interiors - and good for lunching, and for children. p>
