How do I get from the hotel to the Tretyakov Gallery?

While it is possible to walk to the Tretyakov from the Budapest Hotel in around 30 minutes, the easiest way to get to Moscow's premier art gallery is to take the metro from Teatralnaya, around five minutes' walk from the hotel, and travel south on the dark-green line one stop to Novokuznetskaya. Leave the metro via Tretyakovskaya (the interchange station) and it is about 400m on foot to the gallery, with signposts to guide you.
