The Budapest Hotel is ideally situated for enjoying the best of Moscow's downtown dining, with a huge range of upmarket restaurants nearby, and even some reasonable budget options. Check out our picks below.
Top-end
Godunov (5/1 Teatralnaya Ploshchad) serves the better off patrons of the Bolshoi Theater, offering lavish Russian cuisine in extremely elegant premises. More luxurious yet is The Most (6/2 Ulitsa Kuznetskiy Most), which serves up superbly cooked French and Italian cuisine at very high prices.
Mid-range
Bosco Cafe (3 Red Square) does not have the most exciting menu, but boasts the most stunning location in Moscow, with al fresco dining right on Red Square in summer. Kitezh (23/10 Ulitsa Petrovka) is a charming traditional Russian restaurant.
Value
If you wish to sample Azerbaijan's spicy culinary delights, Barashka (20/1 Ulitsa Petrovka) is a stylish and resonably priced cafe. Drevny Kitai (5/6 Kamergerski Pereulok) offers inexpensive but very tasty Chinese food.
