The Crowne Plaza Moscow World Trade Centre is located just outside the historic centre of Moscow, with reasonable transport links to the city's major sights. The main sight of interest in the immediate vicinity of the hotel is Moscow's White House (now officially the House of Russian Government), internationally famous for the revolutionary events of August 1991 and October 1993. It's an impressive Soviet-era building designed by leadin Stalinist architect Dmitry Chechulin.
Also within walking distance of the Crowne Plaza are the Moscow Zoo, which is certainly the best maintained zoo in Russia, and the Narkomfin building, a seminal constructivist apartment block built by Moisei Ginzburg in 1932 for workers of the Comissariat of Finance, now sadly neglected.
