By taxi
Official airport taxis cost around $60 for the trip to the centre of Moscow, and journey time is approximately 45 minutes in clear traffic, or considerably more at peak times. You can also book a transfer with a driver to meet your flight here.
By train
The Aeroexpress rail link runs from Sheremetyevo to Belarus Rail Station in the north of the city centre. Trains run every 30 minutes from 5am to 12.30am daily, and the journey takes around 35 minutes. Standard adult tickets cost $10-15. To complete your journey by public transport, take the metro from Belorusskaya Metro Station and travel anticlockwise two stops on the brown circle line to Kievskaya. Change there to the dark-blue line, and continue one stop east to Smolenskaya, which is less than five minutes' walk from the Golden Ring (the hotel is clearly visible across the Garden Ring as you exit the metro).
By bus
The cheapest way to reach the centre from Sheremetyevo is by bus. The 851 and 851E run to Rechnoy Vokzal Metro Station from 5.35am to 12.49am, take 30-50 minutes to reach the metro, and cost around $1. The 949 marshrutka minibus runs the same route from 6.45am and 9.45pm, is slightly quicker, and costs a little over $2.
