The Ibis Moscow Paveletskaya is located just outside of Moscow's main downtown area and, although there are good transport links to nearly all the city's major visitor attractions, including the Kremlin, Red Square and the State Tretyakov Gallery, in the immediate vicinity of the hotel there is not much of interest for visitors.
When using Pavelets Railway Station or Paveletskaya Metro Station, it is worth taking a few minutes to look at the Lenin Funerary Train, housed in a pavilion to the east of the main concourse building. The train, which carried the "Father of the Revolution" to his state funeral in Moscow, is an impressive old steam engine, and the surrounding exhibits have now been turned into the Museum of the Moscow Railway, with a variety of artifacts and models concerning the development of rail travel in Moscow and throughout Russia.
