As well as the Tretyakov Gallery, the Zamoskvareche district is home to a number of beautiful historical churches, including the striking Church of the Resurrection on Kadashevskiy, one of the most famous examples of the Naryshkin Baroque style, which dates from 1687. Also of note are the 18th century Church of St. Clement, next to Tretyakovskaya Metro Station, and the Church of St. Greogory on Bolshaya Polyanka Ulitsa, which features silver domes and a riot of coloured towers, and was built by Peter the Greats father, Aleksei, in 1669.
