Guests at the National Hotel are right in the tourist center Moscow, but fortunately that doesn't mean that there aren't plenty of good eateries to be found in the vicinity.
Top-end
Godunov (5/1 Teatralnaya Ploshchad) offers sumptuous Russian haute cuisine in extremely elegant premises next to the Bolshoy Theatre.
Mid-range
Its basic Italian cafe food may be a little over-priced, but Bosco Cafe (3 Red Square) allows diners to eat al fresco right on Red Square in summer. Belaya Rus (14, Bolshaya Nikitskaya Ulitsa) is a traditional Belarussian restaurant, serving well prepared rustic food at reasonable prices. Next door, Shampan (12, Bolshaya Nikitskaya Ulitsa) does not charge as much for its tempting international menu as its lavish interiors would suggest.
Value
Drevny Kitai (5/6 Kamergerski Pereulok) offers inexpensive but authentic Chinese cuisine that could be some of the best in central Moscow.
