Opened in 2006, the Peter I Hotel has 133 rooms housed in a completely reconstructed late 19^th century mansion that retains an elegant neoclassical facade. Inside, the hotel's designers have achieved an appealing balance of classical elegance and smart, modern minimalism, with spacious guest rooms and a good range of superior services including a modern fitness center and Wi-Fi access throughout the hotel. While Standard Rooms are not quite up to international five-star standards, this cannot be said of the Peter I's VIP Area. On the top floor of the hotel, it lives up to the most exacting demands, with more elegant and luxuriously fitted rooms, extra guest amenities and great views over the city center.

Facilities at the hotel included a reasonably well equipped fitness centre with Turkish hammam and small indoor pool, a very stylish restaurant with acceptably priced Russian cuisine, and two attractive formal meeting rooms. For business travelers who require more extensive MICE facilities, the Peter I's sister hotel, the Budapest, has larger conferencing spaces available next-door.
