Although the Proton Business Hotel is some distance from Moscow's major downtown attractions, there are still some sights in the neighborhood worth investigating for visitors with time on their hands. On the same street as the hotel about 1km east, the Church of the Intercession at Fili, built between 1690 and 1693, is one of Moscow's finest baroque buildings.
Right next to the hotel, meanwhile, Filevskiy Park is one of the largest in Moscow, and the historic estates and mansion of the prominent Naryshkin family. A little further afield, Park Pobedy ("Victory Park") contains memorials both to the Russian victory over Napoleon's invading forces in 1812 and to Soviet victory in the Second World War. The Borodino Panorama Museum houses, with its magnificent 115-meter circular painting of the Battle of Borodino, is definitely the most interesting.
