Where can I eat near the hotel?

Soyuz Hotel

The best place to find a variety of food is at the Rechnoy Vokzal Metro Station, about a ten-minute bus ride from the Soyuz Hotel.

Borschev
35, Smolnaya Ulitsa, Bldg. 2
Debated as a Ukrainian or a Russian invention, borscht is in either case a mainstay of Russian cuisine. This eatery is named after that mainstay of a dish. Obviously, the eponymous dish should be tried but for those that are not fans of beetroot, there are a variety of other classic Russian dishes well prepared. The restaurant also boasts friendly service and reasonable prices.

Shore House
Crossing of MKAD (outside, 66 km) and Volokolamskoe Shosse, "Crocus City" Center
Arkady Novikov is a name to know if you are interested in finding the top places to eat in Moscow. Shore House is another one of his creations and is in line with what his fans love. A combination of a yacht-club and high-end restaurant, Shore House is an elegantly designed space that serves Azeri, European, and Japanese dishes. A heated pool and skating rink are on hand for those looking to have some fun. Prices are of course not cheap.

Steik's
80, Leningradskiy Shosse, Bldg. 1
This smart but surprisingly inexpensive steakhouse (by Moscow standards) serves a huge variety of steaks imported from Australia and the USA, as well as a wide range of salads, and has a reasonable if short wine list. Somewhat bizarrely, the restaurant has a 5m swimming pool inside that is used for diving lessons.
