Located on the edge of a thriving commercial district, the Swissotel Krasnye Holmy is within comfortable walking distance of several excellent eateries.
Top-end
Oblomov (5 1-y Monetchikovsky Pereulok) is one of the best places in Moscow for traditional haute cuisine, with 19th century grandeur and superbly cooked Russian and French dishes. Syem Pyatnits (6 Vorontskovskaya Ulitsa, Bldg. 1) is another up-market Russian restaurant aiming for period authenticity, but with a slightly more homely atmosphere.
Mid-range
Aruba (4 Narodnaya Ulitsa) is a Cuban restaurant (serving authentic fare, rum cocktails and Cuban cigars) that's good for dinner or for a night out at weekends. Budvar (33 Kotelnicheskaya Naberezhnaya) is a popular beer hall serving imported Czech brews and hearty dishes to accompany them.
Value
Baklazhan (29 Nikoloyamskaya Ulitsa, Bldg. 3) is a fair walk from the Swissotel, but worth it for bargain Georgian cuisine in a friendly atmosphere. Shtolnya (6/13 Zatsepsky Val, Bldg. 1) is a pub with a mining theme that allows guests to pour their own beer from tabelside taps.
