Alliance Ulanskaya Hotel

The Alliance Ulanskaya Hotel is one of very few 3-star hotels in central Moscow, offering comparatively low-cost modern accommodation at an excellent location on a quiet side street to the north-east of the Kremlin and Red Square. A mid-size hotel, the Ulanskaya is an excellent base for sightseeing or doing business in the downtown area, but has little to offer in the way of atmosphere or entertainment.

Fully reconstructed in 2006, the Alliance Ulanskaya has 61 rooms and suites, all fitted to basic three-star standards, with modern furniture and hi-speed wired Internet access and air-conditioning throughout (WiFi is also available free-of-charge in public areas). Rooms are decorated in a very plain style. Catering to business travellers, the Ulanskaya offers a large number of single rooms, which are hard to find elsewhere in central Mosow. The hotel also has a pleasant restaurant with regular live jazz, and provides a good range of business and concierge services, although not all staff speak English.

The main advantage of the Ulanskaya, however, is its central location just beyond the Boulevard Ring. The Alliance Ulanskaya is less than 2km from Red Square (25 minutes' walk or two metro stops) and only 5-10 minutes’ drive from Leningrad, Kazan, and Yaroslavl Railway Stations on Komsomolskaya Ploshchad. This combination of convenience and reliable, reasonably priced accommodation has made the Alliance Ulanskaya very popular with Russian business travellers and with an increasing number of foreign visitors.
